Slice your carrots lengthwise, then melt butter in a large skillet. When the butter is melted, add in the carrots, brown sugar, maple syrup, salt, and pepper, mixing it all together in the pan.
4 Tablespoons Butter, 2 lbs. Carrots, 6 Tablespoons Brown sugar, 2 Tablespoons Maple syrup, ¼ teaspoon Salt, pinch Black pepper
Let the sauce mixture cook with the carrots, maintaining a bubbling simmer and stirring occasionally to prevent burning, until the carrots are the desired tenderness and the sauce is reduced to a thick glaze.
Garnish with parsley if desired, and serve immediately! Glazes thicken as they cool, so this dish is best prepared right away.
Fresh parsley
Notes
Glazed carrots recipes can also be made in the oven. Here's how:
Preheat oven to 425°F.
Peel and slice carrots lengthwise. Or, leave them unpeeled, but scrub to wash, then slice.
Melt butter in the microwave, then add it to a bowl with brown sugar, maple syrup, salt, and pepper. Mix together.
Toss the carrots in the glaze mixture to fully coat.
Cover a baking sheet with parchment paper. Evenly spread the glazed carrots on the sheet.
Bake for 25-30 minutes, mixing them around halfway through to make sure they are coated with the glaze on all sides. When they're ready, they will be caramelized and soft.
Top with chopped parsley if using, serve, and enjoy!
